Kasia, my friend

Here's my latest finished project, the BurdaStyle Kasia skirt.

Day 14 of Me Made June

This is the second time I've made it and I think that I like it better this time, although after seeing the photo above I might hem it just above the knee.

I made a straight size 42 in a black cotton sateen.  It's just a little bit more snug than I usually like, but that's due to my recent addiction to Cadbury pineapple chocolate and has nothing to do with the pattern sizing:)

I love the pockets, the button front and the gathered inserts and I think that the high waist is quite flattering.  You can see in the photos that after wearing the skirt all day it has bagged a little in the butt area and that the waistband has a fold line in it.  These aren't deal breakers for me.  I didn't line the skirt or wear a slip (I should have, it crept up my stockings every time I took more than two steps) and I think that this would help to prevent the bagging.

I can't stay out of my sewing room at the moment, I've got a couple of projects cut out but I'm not sure what I want to do.

What a great skirt. I love all the extra details like the gathered inserts and button front. Looks like a handy addition to your winter wardrobe.

Wow, it looks fantastic! I might have to make one. It looks really versatile in black.
